RE-LAUNCH AND HANDING OVER OF REPUBLIC OF BENIN NAVY SHIP PENDJARI

The Naval Dockyard Limited has completed the repairs and maintenance of BNS PENDJARI, one of the 6 Republic of Benin Navy Ships scheduled to be repaired by the Yard. BNS PENDJARI was docked on 16 April 2024 and was successfully undocked on 22 August 2024 after various repairs and maintenance work were carried out. Some of the work done include; hull cleaning and painting, replacement of fixed stanchions and modified with collapsible ones, conversion of inflatable boat to rigid hull. Other repairs are correction of technical errors in some valves and pumps. The Special Guest of Honour at the event was the Nigeria’s Chief of the Naval Staff, ably represented by Rear Admiral MB Hassan, the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command. Other distinguished dignitaries at the event include representative of the of the Republic of Benin Chief of the Naval Staff, GOC 81 Division Nigerian Army, FOC Naval Doctrine Command, AOC Logistics Command, MDs of corporate organizations and friends and partners of the Naval Dockyard Limited. The ceremony climaxed with the formal handing over of the Ship to Navy Captain Bernard Goussana, who represented the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Republic of Benin.
