The Commandant Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Air Vice Marshal BR Mamman visited the Naval Dockyard Limited (NDL) as part of the his familiarization visits to some Units in Lagos area following his assumption of office as Commandant NAFRC. The Commandant and his team were briefed on the activities of NDL in the areas of shipbuilding and maintenance as well as human capacity development. NAFRC is responsible for providing skills and training in various fields for retiring members of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The Commandant stated the purpose of his visit was to familiarize himself with the activities of NDL and seek areas of collaboration as regards to capacity building for retiring members of the Nigerian Armed Forces. In response, the Admiral Superintendent Rear Admiral AA Orederu assured the Commandant that the Yard could provide possible collaboration between the 2 organizations in areas of capacity building and skills acquisition in carpentry, welding and steel work. Additionally, trainees in NAFRC could be sent to the yard for industrial attachment during their training at the Centre.
