
NAVAL DOCKYARD LIMITED AT DEFENCE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT BUREAU SEMINAR/EXHIBITION 2024
The Naval Dockyard Limited attended the Defence Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) Seminar/Exhibition to showcase the enormous Naval Dockyard contribution to Ship Design/Development. The Defence Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) Seminar and Exhibition was held from 15-16 October 2024. The theme of the seminar is ENHANCING SYNERGY IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TOWARDS ROBUST MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX IN NIGERIA. Naval Dockyard Limited led an impressive display of contemporary naval equipment and hardware, indicative of advancements in maritime defence and vessel maintenance at the Yard. Thus, show casing of NNS OJI, the latest indigenous built naval war ship constructed at Naval Dockyard Limited, amongst other engineering construction and ship repairs, underlines the significant contribution and growth of NDL. The event featured high-level discussions and presentations on modern research and development methods with key insights or collaboration with other R&D stakeholders in Nigeria. The Honourable Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar CON, attended as the Special Guest of Honour, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s defence sector. The Admiral Superintendent Naval Dockyard Limited participated in the 2 round table discussions, speaking on Development of Indigenous Military Technology in Nigeria. Attendees, including senior military officials, industry experts, and defence enthusiasts, engaged in insightful exchanges aimed at bolstering research, development, and operational excellence across Nigeria’s naval forces.
